Preparing Your Home for Professional Photography

  1. Lighting
    • Turn on all indoor lights, including lamps and accent lighting.
    • Replace any burned-out lightbulbs.
    • Turn off ceiling fans to prevent motion blur in photos.
  2. Windows and Blinds
    • Open all blinds, shades, or curtains to let in natural light.
    • Clean windows to eliminate streaks or smudges.
  3. Decluttering
    • Remove items from countertops in kitchens and bathrooms (e.g., appliances, toiletries).
    • Hide personal items such as mail, laundry, or children’s toys.
    • Minimize visible cords and cables.
  4. Furniture and Décor
    • Arrange furniture to highlight spaciousness and functionality.
    • Add a few tasteful décor items like fresh flowers, fruit bowls, or neutral art.
    • Remove excess furniture or overly personal décor.
  5. Exterior Preparation
    • Mow the lawn, trim bushes, and sweep walkways.
    • Move vehicles out of the driveway and away from the front of the home.
    • Remove trash cans, garden tools, and other clutter from view.

    • Fluff pillows and arrange them neatly on sofas and chairs.
    • Hide remote controls, magazines, and pet toys.
    • Clean and dust surfaces, including coffee tables and shelves.
  10. General Cleaning
    • Vacuum, mop, and dust every room.
